BBC Film Network: Seachd at Edinburgh
17th August 2007
We report on the premiere of the Scottish Gaelic-language drama Seachd - The Inaccessible Pinnacle
Skye's the limit in Simon Miller's debut feature, Seachd - The Inaccessible Pinnacle, a visually breathtaking drama which premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival on Thursday 16th August.
Uniquely, the film is the first feature to be shot in Scottish Gaelic, which is good news for the 60,000 or so people currently speaking the language in Scotland. Seachd (pronounced 'Shack') was shot entirely on the Isle of Skye, using a predominantly non-professional cast, and draws on the rich tradition of Gaelic storytelling and the stunning vistas of the western island.

Made for less than £700,000, Seachd will be released in the UK in September, but Edinburgh audiences got a sneak peek at The Inaccessible Pinnacle. Watch the video above to discover more about the film from director Simon Miller and producer Christopher Young.
Seachd - The Inaccessible Pinnacle has special preview screenings in the Highlands & Islands from Friday 28th September 2007. It will then be released across Scotland from 5th October and the rest of the UK from 12th October.
